Naomi Christie is a Vietnamese-American director, writer, and photographer based in Los Angeles. She earned her B.A. in Screenwriting from California State University, Northridge, before beginning her career in fashion photography and music videos.
Her visually striking work caught the attention of artists and brands, leading her to direct music videos and fashion films before transitioning into narrative filmmaking.
In 2021, she earned her MFA in Directing from the prestigious American Film Institute Conservatory, where she was recognized with support from the AFI AWARDS Audi Scholarship. Her thesis film, Object of Desire, a darkly comedic short that explores the hyper-sexualization of Asian women, won the DGA Award for Best Director in the Asian American category. It also received the Jury Award at the Houston Asian American Pacific Islander Film Festival and was selected to screen at the UTA Next Gen Showcase.
Immediately after AFI, Naomi secured management with 42MP, allowing her to expand into feature filmmaking.
